How to create an account on LOBSTR?

You can create a new LOBSTR account free of charge in just a few clicks through our website or mobile apps available for iOS and Android.

Account creation works differently depending on the platform:

• Mobile apps use Passkey-based account creation.
• The LOBSTR Web App uses email-based account creation.

Creating an Account in the LOBSTR Mobile App

To create a new account in the LOBSTR mobile app:

1. Open the LOBSTR app → tap Create Account.

2. Enter your desired LOBSTR username. It will also be used to name your passkey. → tap Create Account.

3. Select the password manager where you'd like to save your Passkey and tap Add Passkey.

Important: Make sure your Passkey is saved securely. Access to your account depends on the Passkey stored by your password manager or credential provider.

4. After your Passkey has been created successfully, you will be automatically signed in to your new LOBSTR account. Tap Create Wallet to create your wallet.

5. Back up your wallet → tap Confirm Backup

6. Verify your Recovery Phrase → tap Confirm

Important:

• Your Recovery Phrase is required to recover access to your wallet if your device is lost, stolen, or becomes unavailable.
• Store your Recovery Phrase in a secure location and never share it with anyone. Anyone with access to your Recovery Phrase can gain full control of your wallet and funds.
• We recommend saving your Recovery Phrase in a trusted password manager or another secure backup solution.
• You are the only person who has access to your Recovery Phrase. The LOBSTR team cannot view or recover Recovery Phrases.
• The word order is extremely important. When verifying or restoring a wallet, make sure the words are entered in the correct order and without spelling mistakes.

7. Transfer at least 1 XLM to your wallet to activate it.

When creating a wallet in the LOBSTR app, you can activate it by making a one-time purchase of 10 XLM through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store ('Deposit' → 'Instant top-up'). 

You can also use MoonPay, Mercuryo, NEAR Intents, Coindisco integration, Stripe, or Moneygram Cash in service.

Creating an Account on the LOBSTR Web App

1. Go to the LOBSTR website and click the Get Started button.

2. Insert your email address and choose a strong and unique password.

We recommend using a password manager (like 1Password, Lastpass, Dashlane, Keeper, etc) to help you generate and remember your password.

3. Verify your account by clicking on the Verify Email button in the message sent to your email address. 

4. Sign in to your created LOBSTR account.

5. Navigate to Settings → Wallets and press the Create Wallet button if you'd like to create a new Stellar wallet. 

6. Write down your Recovery Phrase, which is needed to recover access to your account in case of a password loss or if your phone is lost or stolen. The word order is very important.  

7. Transfer at least 1 XLM to your wallet to activate it. Learn more

To purchase Stellar lumens on the LOBSTR web, you can use the ‘Buy Lumens’ option. You can also use the Moneygram Cash in service to activate your Stellar wallet.

Importing an Existing Wallet into Your LOBSTR Account

You can import an existing wallet into your LOBSTR account using your Recovery Phrase or wallet credentials, depending on the platform and import method.

LOBSTR Mobile Apps:

During account creation, existing wallets can only be imported using a Recovery Phrase.

1. Tap Import Wallet on the onboarding screen.
2. Select Recovery Phrase.
3. Enter your Recovery Phrase and follow the on-screen instructions. 

Important: If you'd like to connect a wallet using its public address and Secret Key, you can do so after completing account setup in Settings →  Wallets →  Manage wallets.

LOBSTR Website

1. Click the Connect Wallet button under the Wallets tab in Settings.

2. Choose the preferred option to add the wallet. 

Option 1. Connect the wallet with your public Stellar address and Secret key

Important: The Secret key is optional. If it is not specified, your account will be available in the preview mode only. You won't be able to submit transactions without it.
