How does the ‘Cross-chain crypto swap’ work?
The ‘Swap crypto from Stellar to another chain’ option on LOBSTR allows you to convert Stellar tokens to BTC, ETH, USDT, XRP, and other crypto, powered by our partnership with Changelly. This functionality is only available in mobile apps at this time.
You can swap your Stellar Lumens (XLM) or USD Coin (USDC) on Stellar to 400+ tokens across different chains.
When converting tokens, you will need to send your tokens on Stellar to the deposit address provided in the app within 3 hours period to complete the swap. The non-Stellar tokens will be sent to your wallet on another chain after your Stellar payment is received and confirmed by our partner.
The final amount of non-Stellar tokens you will receive can be more or less than quoted due to market price changes.
The fees apply for transactions submitted via the ‘Cross-chain crypto swap’. The service fees can be as high as 1% per transaction.
The network fee is set by our partner and is calculated dynamically depending on the selected pair and amounts.
How to swap from Stellar to another chain?
Follow this tutorial to swap crypto from Stellar to another chain:
1. Tap ‘Withdraw’ in the side menu of LOBSTR mobile apps > select 'Sell & Exchange' > select 'Swap from Stellar to another chain'.
2. Select a crypto from another chain that you'd like to swap from XLM or USDC on Stellar.
3. Tap 'Continue'.
4. Enter the recipient address of your wallet from another chain. Your tokens will be sent to this address.
Note that for certain crypto tokens, like XRP or BNB, you may also be required to specify an Extra ID associated with your non-Stellar wallet.
Make sure to enter the Extra ID for your non-Stellar wallet address if your wallet or exchange service provides it. If you omit it, your transaction will fail.
5. Check the swap preview > tap 'Confirm and Proceed'.
Note that the 'You get' amount is the estimated amount of crypto you will receive after all fees are applied.
The final amount of tokens you will receive can be more or less than quoted here due to market price changes and is determined by our integration partner.
6. Follow the instructions on the 'Make a Payment' screen.
Send the amount of tokens specified on the screen to the provided Deposit address within 3 hours to start your swap transaction.
Use the 'Send Tokens' button at the bottom of the 'Make a Payment' screen to quickly send your XLM or USDC for swap right from this screen. This is the fastest and easiest way to proceed with your transaction.
You can also complete the transaction manually from LOBSTR or another wallet if you'd like to.
To do that, use the amount, the deposit address and memo ID provided on the 'Make a Payment' screen to make your Stellar payment. Ensure to include the memo of the 'ID' type with your payment, or your swap transaction will fail.
Once you make a payment you can use the 'Check Transaction Status' button at the bottom of the screen to follow along the progress of your swap transaction at the web page of our partner.
7. When you click the 'Check Transaction Status' button, you'll be redirected to Changelly to check the latest status of your transaction and its details.
The status will be updated shortly after our partner receives your payment for the swap. The page will provide timely updates as the swap progresses.
If you have email or push notifications enabled, LOBSTR will notify you when you receive your Stellar tokens.
8. After confirming the transaction, LOBSTR will also send you a 'New cross-chain swap transaction created' email with instructions and Changelly transaction ID. Use the 'Check Transaction Status' button to visit the transaction status page on the partner website anytime after you close the mobile app.

Our integration partner at their own discretion may require some users to complete the mandatory KYC check to process their swap transaction.
