What is Smart Swap in LOBSTR?
Smart Swap is a new innovative feature that enables programmatic optimization of your swap transactions to find the best routes and rates across the Stellar network.
How it works?
When swapping assets, LOBSTR now compares two swap styles to present you with the best rate.
The first uses Stellar path payments, attempting multiple hops across SDEX/AMM markets. This is the 'regular' style that was available previously.
Smart Swap, however, breaks the amount you are looking to swap into smaller parts to try to achieve a more profitable exchange rate.
Smart Swap activates to find you a better rate if the following conditions are met:
- The amount of the asset you are selling is valued at over $100;
- The price impact value for the 'regular' style swap is less than or equal to minus -0.5% (it would be an unfavorable swap for you);
If Smart Swap is more favorable and active, you will see the new 'Savings' tag appear in the interface, and you can swap at this superior rate.
Before you make a swap, you can preview the amount of profit compared to a regular swap and look up the paths for your 'Smart Swap' transaction by clicking the ( i ) icon.
What are the fees?
The Smart Swap quote includes the 30% fee applied to the savings generated by Smart Swap compared to a 'regular' swap. This supports the ongoing development of LOBSTR.
