If you are looking to create an account with LOBSTR, you may be wondering why we need your email address for that.
Notifications
Your email address helps us notify you of your Stellar wallet and profile activity so you can always stay up to date.
Note: Creating an account with LOBSTR does not require going through the process of identity verification.
You would only need to confirm your email address. No other personal other than your email information is collected.
Email address is collected for your convenience only. We do not share this information with third parties.
The email is used to send you notifications about incoming & outgoing payments, security alerts, confirmation messages, updates about asset price changes, and updates for other on-chain transactions. We also occasionally send you news about new exciting features coming to LOBSTR.
These notifications are optional and can be disabled in your Profile settings under the 'Notifications' tab.
Security
All LOBSTR users' accounts are protected with an IP address confirmation security layer by default. It protects your account by requiring email confirmation each time you log in from a new unknown IP address.
Each user can also enable an optional Two-factor Authentication (2FA) to take account security a step further.
With 2FA enabled for your account, you will need to provide an extra one-time password when logging in to your LOBSTR account. This extra one-time password is stored in the 2FA app on your iOS or Android device and is regenerated every 30 seconds.
Multiple other options including account Access History, Multisig wallet setup, and on-device PIN code & Face ID protection are available too so you can keep your account and funds fully secured.
